There are six churches in La Vall de Gallinera. They are located in Benirrama, Benialí, Benissivà, La Carroja, Alpatró and Benissili.

The first churches in La Vall de Gallinera probably appeared during the 17th century, with the arrival of the Mallorcan settlers, but the current constructions began to be built from the 18th century onwards. During the Spanish Civil War, a large number of works of art were lost, mainly images and altarpieces. The bells also disappeared. The current ones are from recent times.

In addition to the churches in the valley, there was also a Franciscan convent near Benitaia during the 17th and 18th centuries. Nowadays we know that it was built on that precise site in order to obtain a solar alignment with the hole of La Foradada, exactly on the Feast Day of Saint Francis.
