THE MIDDLE MILL
It was located on the right bank of the river, in one of its bends, and received water from the Upper Mill, located about 800 metres upriver, by means of a dam and a canal leading to a pond which was built so as to be perfectly adapted to the orographic conditions of the terrain. It was precisely this water that was the subject of discussions between the millers of the two mills, an argument that ended with the death of one of them due to a shot fired by the other.
Although converted into a terraced field, the pond and its buttresses are perfectly preserved. It is also possible to see the stone fan, which comes out of the pond behind the mill and to its right. It was used to drain the pond a little when there was excess water.
It has a relatively wide and deep canal with two mouths separated by a stone pillar, which carried the water to two wheels located in the same vault. It had two Catalan millstones.
It belonged to Gonzalo Alemany Verger, from Benirrama, of the Porra lineage. It also stopped grinding around 1925.
It is currently privately owned.
